For my first real blog post, I want to highlight some of my predictions for this upcoming NFL season. Unfortunately, I was not able to get these up before week 1, but these predictions were made during the preseason. Sorry, you guys have to take my word on that, but if you want a closer look here is a screenshot of those predictions. (click or tap the image for a closer look)
Super Bowl Prediction: Dolphins vs. 49ers
34-24 49ers win the Super Bowl!
One small item that was left off of my predictions was in fact the Super Bowl. I did this on purpose so that I could specifically talk about it in a blurb like this so let’s get into it.
Yep, that’s right, I have the Dolphins vs. 49ers in Super Bowl 58. Here’s why:
For the Dolphins, I’m all in on Mike McDaniel and that offense for this season. We saw last season how explosive that team was with a healthy Tua and I don’t see anyone stopping them this season either. That team’s biggest question is whether Tua will play a full season, but I have no issue believing that he will. Besides, I hate talking or predicting injuries so I really hope he does! Most importantly I see this team winning in big moments with their raw offensive talent, and once the cold weather hits in the playoffs they will fall back on the elite speed they boast in the skill positions. The Defense has the potential to finish in the top half of the league, and they have playmakers who can step up in chosen moments (Jalen Ramsey trade FTW!). In year 2 of the Mike McDaniel experiment, I expect the Dolphins to make it out of a loaded QB-heavy AFC with the best combination of weapons and playcalling for their guy at QB.
And for my Super Bowl champs… I think this is the season the San Francisco 49ers finally complete the process. If you couldn’t already tell, I’m really betting on health for each of these teams, but if healthy, I can see this matchup happening. The 49ers have the weapons, defense, coach, and experience to make their Super Bowl dream come through this year. Each of their last 3 playoff losses were to teams that made the Super Bowl including two eventual champions. This team was built to contend, and I think they’re in a good position to follow through this year. In the first full season with Christian McCaffrey, I think the 49er’s run game will flourish with him and Elijah Mitchell working off each other. While also keeping McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk involved in the passing game, the 9ers have elite weapons all around to make every defensive coordinator they see have nightmares about who to cover. Also with one of the best O-lines in football, the 49ers are primed to keep second-year QB Brock Purdy’s life as easy as possible. All this and I haven’t mentioned their top 5 defense with legit All-Pro talent and a scary pass rush. As a lifelong Steeler fan, I know what a set of legit weapons, a strong O-line, and an elite defense can do for a second-year QB who knows how to manage a game. If you haven’t noticed I’m alluding to Steeler legend Big Ben who won his first Super Bowl in his second year under eerily similar conditions. In all, without injury, this 49ers team has the keys to go out and win their 6th Lombardi Trohpy, and that’s who I’m predicting to win it all this season.
Outro…
Once again, if you made it all the way down to this point you're a real one for sure. Go ahead and leave a comment on who you think will win the Super Bowl and why I’m Super wrong (haha get it). Also, let me know how I’m doing with this so far because I’m really enjoying it!
ps. I plan to post again after week 2 and do a bit of a league-wide roundup and also dive into the state of the Steelers (let’s hope week 2 is better than that performance we got last week) Y’all can expect that Tuesday/Wednesday-ish so go ahead and enjoy the football weekend and stay safe fa me!

Bears taking the NFC North. Your algorithm messed up.
49ers offense has the most versatility in the league imo. Makes it easier to not get “figured out early” but I think Tua could win one game if we are talking about the Super Bowl. Just a better QB with a bigger bag of tricks than Purdy. Great predictions!
